Getting licensed in Pennsylvania
Selling requires a Pennsylvania life insurance license, issued after a course and exam administered by Pennsylvania Insurance Department. As of our last check, Pennsylvania does not require pre-licensing coursework — you can go straight to the state exam. Pennsylvania eliminated its pre-licensing requirement for residents in April 2025.
